Not everyone can get to a clinic. If getting out of the house is difficult because of mobility, transportation, health, or simply the effort involved, our Registered Nurses come to you.
A home visit is not a reduced service. It is the same professional foot care, the same sterilized instruments, and the same nursing assessment, delivered in the comfort of your own home.

In-home foot care can be a good fit for:

What we bring
Our nurses arrive fully equipped with sterilized instruments, personal protective equipment, and assessment tools. Nothing about the standard of care changes because we are in your living room rather than the clinic.
Every home visit begins with a nursing assessment and includes treatment tailored to your needs. Services may include:
- Nail trimming and filing
- Reduction of thickened or fungal nails
- Ingrown toenail care
- Corn and callus treatment
- Diabetic and high-risk foot care
- Skin care and moisturizing
- Preventive foot health education

The same safe care you would receive in clinic
All instruments are sterilized in an autoclave following Public Health Ontario's IPAC standards and remain packaged until they are needed. Your nurse brings the supplies required for assessment and treatment and takes everything away after the visit.
A home visit is designed to be simple for you. A comfortable chair with good lighting and enough room for the nurse to work is usually all that is needed.

We provide home foot care throughout Ottawa, including Orléans, Gloucester, Vanier, Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven and Stittsville, as well as surrounding communities. We also visit clients in hospital.

What it costs
Home visits are priced separately from clinic appointments, with an initial-visit rate and a lower follow-up rate. Current pricing is listed on our FAQ page.
Foot care is not covered by OHIP, but many extended health plans cover foot care provided by a Registered Nurse. We provide a detailed receipt for reimbursement and can direct bill Veterans Affairs Canada for clients with a valid K number.
Canada Life clients: a doctor's note is typically required for a home-visit claim to be accepted. Please confirm the requirements of your own plan before your appointment.

Yes. Your nurse brings sterilized instruments, protective equipment, assessment tools, and the supplies needed to provide professional nursing foot care in your home.
What do I need to prepare?
A comfortable chair, reasonable lighting, and enough space for the nurse to sit and work are usually all that is needed. We bring the clinical supplies.
How often should I book?
Many clients benefit from follow-up care every 6 to 8 weeks. Your nurse will recommend an interval based on your nails, skin, medical history, and foot-care needs.
Is home foot care covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover foot care provided by a Registered Nurse, although coverage varies. We provide a detailed receipt. Canada Life clients should confirm whether their plan requires a doctor's note for home visits.
